Once again, we get to hear a very interesting and high quality podcast. This time the guest is Andre Miripolsky, the artist who designed 7 costumes for Elton, one of them being the fabulous piano costume he wore at the famous Central Park concert 1980.
Well I was a toddler in 1980, so no personal memories from there. But I remember from the 90’s, Music TV showed these shortish documentary style episodes about musicians, and two episodes were about Elton. There was also a short part from this Central Park concert and the piano costume, and I remember thinking that wow, this has been a huge thing!
While listening this podcast, I was thinking that because this is mostly about costumes, they must mention that Donald Duck costume at some point. And they did! From which we get to story about this painting, which mr. Miripolsky painted about this concert and costume now, 45 years later (by request of a fan and art collector). Donald Duck is also there. Go check that out from the artist’s website, miripolsky.com.
Now what was that part about this new “house band”, Pinner, and their rej.world song…? That was fun! More from them!
And since Elton sung a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine in that Central Park concert, we get to hear that cover here. Still sad. What a waste of a talented life by a gunman.
