How to listen

How do we listen to Radio Elton John?

Since June 2024, Radio Elton John episodes can only be heard in full from one place, radioeltonjohn.world, or rej.world You can hear several free episodes in full in the Silver plan, and you can also hear 5-minute previews of episodes in the Gold plan. But to hear most of the episodes you will need either Gold or Platinum plan membership.

With Silver or Platinum plans, you don’t need to worry about any fancy software or downloads. Simply use the integrated player on our website rej.world.

If you choose to purchase episodes with Gold plan, you can download the audio file and text transcript onto your PC and use your native media player to enjoy.

What is the difference between Silver, Gold and Platinum membership?

Silver plan allows you to sign up with your email and to designate the country from where you are listening. We need this for licensing regulations. With more than 125 countries tuning in it has become necessary to know more about our listeners.

Silver plan is totally free. No credit card is required. It allows you access to a small selection of full episodes of Radio Elton John’s flagship show Saturday Night’s Alright (for Podcasting).

For the price of a takeaway coffee, Gold plan allows you to hear any of the episodes in full. You can check out the 5-minute previews first. So you know what you are buying. And then make your purchase. With Gold plan you get the episode, the transcript text of the episode, as well as lifetime access to the episode by downloading it onto your own PC. Radio Elton John owns the copyright and by law you may not share the episode. You can also stream the purchased episode(s) from rej.world anytime. Just log in!

Platinum plan allows you to stream all our back catalogue of episodes – now numbering more than 20 – as well as the next 12 episodes of the monthly show Saturday Night’s Alright (for podcasting). You may renew on the first anniversary of your subscription for uninterrupted play. Just login to continue to enjoy access.

Why do we have to pay for Radio Elton John?

Eltonjohn.world and Radio Elton John receive no other source of income. Yet Radio Elton John now reaches more than 125 countries and the number of listeners has exceeded our expectations in the years since we began broadcasting in 2022. That has increased our costs of delivery, and we also had to tighten security for both Radio Elton John and its main website eltonjohn.world to ensure stable and reliable content delivery to you.

Although a lot of news about Elton is online and free, many respected media do charge for access to content. This ensures the independence of our editorial and supports our impartiality and integrity.

Plus ask yourself this: would an Elton biographer give away his book? After all the research and work that he or she put into their book? An audiobook typically takes 3-5 hours to play. We have more than 20 hours of content. So that’s more than 4 books’ worth of content right there!

The “free” alternative would be advertising and distractions that slow down your enjoyment of our content.

We are super grateful for the many letters of support we received upon launching Radio Elton John and hope that many of you will understand that we continue to offer value for money.

Can I do a remix of Gold and Platinum?

Sure you can! Some fans like Platinum episodes so much that they want to treasure them. So they can also purchase individual episodes in the Gold plan. You can continue to have Platinum as well as Gold. As for sampling from our episodes – a different kind of remix – we cannot offer permission, sorry. Radio Elton John owns copyright for its shows.

I think it is not cool that we have to pay. Why should we?

No one likes to go from free to subscription – even if many good-willed fans would be happy to make a donation. That is why we have kept the prices as low as possible.

We don’t have funding from any other source to run a professional website eltonjohnworld and its new sister site rej.world

The content of Radio Elton John is exclusive. You will not find another programme like it. The presenter, George Matlock, personally knows many of his guests having run the Hercules UK fan club in the 1990s and has worked with several performers linked to Elton. As a professional journalist, George knows the questions that matter to fans and how best to work with guests to get fresh angles you will not read about elsewhere. The shows are also intended to be entertaining. Many guests have offered positive testimonials about their experiences on Radio Elton John.

Our podcasts are no longer available elsewhere in full episodes, so we would encourage you to join our community on rej.world
